The Battle of the Mind…

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Isaiah. 26:3

The children of Israel were in bondage to Egypt for 400 years. (Genesis 15:13) They had become slaves and made to work hard under the cruelest conditions. They were told when to get up, when to eat, and what to eat. They were beaten, with their women raped, and abused. They had been in bondage so long that they “had gotten used to it.” In fact, when God sent Moses to deliver, time and time again, they whined and complained, “Oh, that we could return to Egypt, blah, blah, blah.” There are many people in prison, who, believe it or not, don’t want to leave. They feel comfortable in “bondage.” They have a place to eat, sleep, and have medical care. Their “mind” is in prison. When your mind is in “prison,” and you are comfortable with that bondage, you will never be free. Bondage is a “state of mind.” Years ago, we used to sing a song that said, “You can lock me up in prison, but I can still go free.” When your mind is free, you are free, indeed. Today, if you are that person, whose mind is in prison, you don’t have to stay that way. Jesus can set you free. God will keep you in perfect peace if your mind stays on Him. Have a blessed day.
