“Just Keep on Knocking!”

There was in a city a judge, which fears not God, neither regarded man: (he was a tough old bird!) And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me (help me against,) my adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming, she weary me.” Luke 18:2 – 4

By the way, the scripture reads, she didn’t just “knock one time.” She drove the judge crazy! She would not let him sleep. She was always “knocking!”

We live in an orphanage with 85 kids and 20 plus employees. We have a little space upstairs with two doors—one in the living room and a door in our prayer room. There is always a knock on one of the doors! Sometimes, Bobby says, “Baby, leave it alone. They will go away.” And I say, “No, they won’t…they will just go to the other door!” Ha. It has gotten so that we can tell the different kid’s and adult’s knocks, but one thing is for sure, if they need something, they will knock until they get an answer.

That is how our Heavenly Father is. But never think that He is wearied with you. He just wants to see if you have “persistent faith!” Faith will open that door!!! So, if you need a prayer answered, do what the widow did to the unjust judge or as our kids do… “just keep on knocking!!!” God is on the other side of the door, waiting to help!!!
