Word from the Mission Field – 09-29-17

“Out from Lodebar…”
I love the story in 2 Samuel about Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan. Some time after King Saul and Jonathan were killed in battle, David became king. Saul had been his major enemy, but he had always promised Jonathan, his best friend, that “he would show kindness” to his family. Now, King David learns that Jonathan had a son, Mephibosheth, who was lame in both feet.

Much worse, Mephibosheth was hiding from King David in a place called “Lodebar.” This word means, “without pasture.” It was dry, barren, dusty and without any crops. Mephibosheth was poor, a beggar, lame in both feet, and his grandfather was the Number One enemy of David.

Now, David sends for Mephibosheth, and he extends the greatest of mercy to him and not only restores his grandfather’s (Saul) land to him, but gives him servants (lots of them) to work the land for him. And best of all, he brings poor old, lame Mephibosheth “out of Lodebar” and allows him to sit at the king’s table to eat, forever!!

Some of you may be in Lodebar right now…your finances, your children’s problems, your marriage, or that job you hate. You feel like you are in “Lodebar.” But, the good news is “King Jesus is getting ready to bring you out!!” Ha! Take that, devil!! You need to say, “I’m coming out of Lodebar,” because Jesus has made a way for me! Yes! And, have a great day now!! God loves you. Sherry
