Haiti’s children work “very hard” for “very little food.” Children in the garbage dumps search all day long for “something to sell” from the filthy garbage. Children in the mountains gather sticks for firewood, or carry heavy buckets of water from the nearest river, and others wash clothes in the river. Most poor children do not go to school.
