Widlene is growing up to be a beautiful young lady. When you give Widlene a responsibility, you know it will be done exactly like it should be. Widlene is responsible for all the food and cleaning supplies, items for laundry, etc. at our Love A Child Children’s Home. She and several other girls go with me each Saturday to buy vegetables and meat at the market. She is “always trying new recipes” out! She is a very creative young lady.

Widlene’s mother brought her and her younger sister, Esther, to us when we first moved to Haiti and lived up in the mountains. One Sunday morning, we heard a knock on our gate and it was Madamn Jesula, with little five-year-old Widelene and baby Esther. Madamn Jesula was sick and thought she was going to die. She wanted us to take care of her children when she died.

We put Madamn Jesula in the hospital and found out that she was anemic and suffering from hunger. We got medicine for her and brought her and her two children into our Orphanage and gave her a job. About six years ago, we built her a small house in Miracle Village. Today, Widlene is almost finished with her first year of college. She is taking “Administration.” Widlene is a devout Christian, sweet, honest, and we can’t say enough about her! We know whatever job you give her, she will do will her best! Looking back, I can say, “I’m glad that I answered that knock on my gate, years ago!” We love Widlene and all these children, Sherry
