Just look at this little cutie!! This is Zachary, age two. He is doing his “morning chores” of watering the flowers while one of our workers, Kamy, is watching over him! All of our children get up at 4:30 am and start their chores, but Zachary comes a little late!!! (Actually, he does more “playing with the water” than watering the flowers!)

His story of how he got here is a real miracle because his mother was getting ready to kill him! She had come to our Jesus Healing Center clinic with Zachary, a newborn baby. She told our doctor she was sick, and he treated her. Then he gave her medicine for Zachary. Just as he was finishing up, two of the nurses asked to talk to him. They said they lived near his mother and that she was deeply involved in Voodoo. She had several children that already died and a little girl that “was missing.”

With this information, our Doctor called Social Services and spoke with them. They told us to take the mother to her house and keep the baby and bring him in. When we arrived at her home, several neighbors came out and told us, “We are glad you are here. You need to take the baby away because she told us she was going to kill him with a butcher’s knife!” That was enough for us. So we left with baby Zachary and his mother never came back for him.

Today, he is the “center of attraction” here at Love A Child. He is a smart and very funny little guy. Although, there are sometimes when he is serious…like when he sees us with a piece of chocolate! Zachary loves to be held and rocked and spoiled!!! There is no telling what he will be when he grows up! Every child is a “gift from God!”
