A Haitian Creole Proverb: “Se lè ou pase maladi ou konnen remèd.” “It’s after the sickness, you know the medicine.”
Today, we want to show you how we conduct our Mobile Medical Clinics to the “regions beyond.”
We travel very dangerous terrain to treat the poorest of the poor.
We do Mobile Medical Clinics under tarps, tents and sheds in the middle of nowhere.
We are so thankful that God has allowed us to bring “healing through medical care” to the sick and hurting men, women and children of Haiti.
When the Good Samaritan saw a wounded man dying on the road to Jericho, he stopped, picked him up, poured “oil and wine” into his wounds, took him to an inn, and paid his expenses until he was better.
Jesus commands us to help the poor. We have many volunteer team members come to Haiti to help the poor.
We are so very thankful to organizations like MAP International that help us with wonderful medicines…
These medicines help to heal the sick during Mobile Medical Clinics.
Everything donated is used to heal and show love.
There are times when our patients are not too happy. And other times when they are thankful for medical care.
We give medicines to poor mountain mothers to take back to their huts.
We also share our medicines with other missionaries, in whose work we have confidence. We share donated medicines with Real Hope for Haiti.
My friend Lori, her sister, and their friends are doing a great job. These are some of the people that they have cared for in their clinic.
These medicines and vitamins are a blessing.
These medicines will help the sick children in their area.
The mothers are so very thankful.
This area is my Mobile Medical Clinic at the depot. It was designed by Pastor Mark Ostrander and sponsored and built by our friends at H.E.A.R.T. 9/11! I LOVE MY MOBILE MEDICAL CLINIC ROOM!
This is Madanm Jesula, a young widow with four children. She had no work until we hired her to sort and pack medicines! She does a great job!
When we receive donated medicines or when we have to buy medicines in bulk, everything has to be labeled in Creole, so that the Haitians will always know how to take their medicines. Most labels have a sun, moon, and stars to help them understand when the medication is to be taken. It is a simple system and very easy for the Haitians to understand.
It takes a long time to get all the medication organized and ready for the Mobile Medical Clinics to travel to the “Regions Beyond.” When we go, we will be able to bless each family with all the medicine and vitamins they need!
The medical clinics present our chance to share Jesus with “Voodoo” people and others who do not know Christ. “The love of God leads men to repentance.”
Special thanks to Tim & Gaye Goad Ministries for all of the Amway Vitamins.
Thank you Vitamin Angels for the many boxes of vitamins.
Again, I want to thank MAP International for the donated medication.
I wish to thank all of our wonderful Love A Child Partners for sponsoring small family sacks of medicines for $20. They are the best partners in the world!
We thank those who sponsor a medical clinic for an entire village for $1,000.
We also thank those who give the “Widow’s Mite.” Every gift is important! Thank you for making a difference in the lives of all these people!
We appreciate all of the donated items, but there are still thousands of dollars of medicines that we must buy here in Haiti. These include: antibiotics for adults and children, B-12, folic acid, medicines for malnourished children, wound care, scabies, pain and much more. We buy these in large quantities, and then we put the medication in smaller bottles or bags to distribute to our patients. The medications and packaging materials are very expensive, but necessary for conducting Mobile Medical Clinics to the “regions beyond.”
If you would like to help sponsor a medical clinic with a gift, please call 239-210-6107 to find out how you can help.
God bless you, Sherry
