Christmas Outreach in the Dominican Republic

December 29-31, 2013

Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
Matthew 25:45

Over the last several years, our outreach has been spreading into the Dominican Republic. There are many Haitians living there and working in the sugarcane fields. The Haitians working there end up living in very poor communities called Bateyes or sugarcane camps.

Very poor community.

Just recently we had a special group of people reaching out in the Dominican Republic. This group included: Greg Weitzel, Pastor Randy Landis and David George. Carlos was there clearing the way for this work.

All of the gifts were organized and loaded into our big white truck.

One stop in the Dominican Republic was to bless the children supported by Pedro Martinez, a former Boston Red Sox pitcher.

We gave out over 300 toys, popcorn, candy canes and much more. Here is our group catching a photo with Carolina, Pedro Martinez’s wife.

These children were all smiles.

They were so thankful for these gifts and food.

The smiles were lighting up the room.

Gifts were also given to a group of children with special needs.

The children gathered around Pastor Randy Landis to say “Thank you!”

We thank Carlos, our team host, for helping to make this Christmas outreach possible in the Dominican Republic.

Thank you partners for helping to make these outreaches to the poor possible. Great is your reward. May God bless you and your family.

Love,
Sherry
