A Creole Proverb…
“Ou we sa ou genyen, ou pa konn sa ou rete.”
“You know what you’ve got, but you don’t know what’s coming.”
Haiti is now considered the “poorest country in the world…”
Most Haitian adults and children do not have nice clothing to wear, nor do they have a blanket for chilly nights. Their money goes toward trying to find a handful of rice to feed their children.
Most of the orphanages in Haiti struggle each month to find enough food for their children. This is why we share our food with so many…
When we receive wonderful new items, we love to share what comes to us with others. Just recently, we received boxes of clothing, quilts and many other useful supplies. Every item will be put to good use and we are all so thankful. Let’s see what “goodies” came to Haiti recently.
This first box from Carolyn Weaver was shared with those living in old Le Tant.
Everyone gathered around and was grateful for the shared items.
This box had all of the children jumping with joy.
This little girl was especially happy to receive a Beanie Baby!
The children all gathered around hoping for a Beanie Baby.
It was a great day sharing special treats with this very poor village.
This lady was happy to receive a little soft snuggle doll for her baby.
Before leaving, we opened a box from Lutheran Missions Attic Workshop, Inc.
This box was filled with handmade quilts.
These will be perfect for a chilly Haitian night.
Back at the orphanage, some of the girls received dresses from Church on the Way Praise Center.
These little girls were thrilled to get a new dress.
One more box from Puritan St. Church of Christ with more dresses.
Thanks to our wonderful partners, Love A Child children are the “best dressed” in Haiti.
Gloria Dean sent in backpacks for the children to use for school.
Thank you all for these wonderful gifts of love. All of the Haitians say, “merci beaucoup!”
Love,
Sherry
