Cover Our Butts

April 1-6, 2014

A Creole Proverb…
“Ou we sa ou genyen, ou pa konn sa ou rete.”
“You know what you’ve got, but you don’t know what’s coming.”

Recently, we received boxes of “undies” to share with the poor. This blessing came to us from the Garcia family. With this blessing in hand, we packed up and headed to old Le Tant.

This is a mud hut village.

It is hard to make a living in this village. Some try to make fishing nets to sell.

Many children just sit in the dirt. Sometimes, they are completely naked and sitting next to pigs.

Each child wanted a gift and it didn’t take long for a line to form.

On this day, Carole and I had “undies” to share.

David George was right there in the middle of the action.

He had lollipops to share. This little girl wasn’t sure about the lollipops.

These two headed back to their little mud hut with “lollipops and new undies!”

We thank the Garcia family for sending this blessing to Haiti. Now these naked little children will at least be able to “cover their butts!” Ha!

Love,
Sherry
