“Bon Dieu konn kinbe crab, mete nan makout aveg…”
“God knows how to catch a crab and put him in the blind man’s sack…”
God knows how to provide for the poor.
We have had some awesome volunteers with us here in Haiti. Special thanks to our Dutch Medical Team, who came from so far away and did such a GREAT JOB with the clinics. You guys are the best! We also thank Chris Baker and his team from Victory Church, who blessed us with a Ministry Team and shared the Gospel!
They have been traveling to some very poor villages and conducting Mobile Medical Clinics.
One of the first stops was the old village of Le Tant.
It didn’t take long to set up the Mobile Medical Clinic in the middle of this village of mud huts.
The volunteers quickly began treating patients.
This little Haitian girl wasn’t too sure about the wound care area.
We had lots of help in the pharmacy.
Our volunteers took blood pressure readings for most of the patients.
Once the team finished in Le Tant, they were off to another village.
The next stop was La Roche…
This little boy had a severe burn on his leg. We sent him straight to wound care where the burned area was cleaned, a burn cream was applied and the wound was covered with gauze. This little boy left the clinic feeling much better.
This mommie below came in with a high fever, chills and body aches. She felt awful and had a baby that was malnourished and had symptoms of severe dehydration.
The lady below came to the clinic with a terribly infected area on her leg.
Dr. Cynthia was able to lance the abscess and give her some relief.
Dr. Cynthia also made a “hut call” to see an elderly woman who was too sick to come to our clinic. This poor woman was lying on the floor on a mattress that was covered by a handmade quilt. She was very sick and near death.
We took her by ambulance to our Jesus Healing Center for an evaluation. Our medical doctors found several major complications and were not able to help her.
Her family requested that we bring her home so they could care for her until her passing. They thanked us for trying to save her life.
In just three days, the team saw 738 patients, gave out 2,853 prescriptions, fitted 36 people for eyeglasses, took care of 38 patients in wound care, treated 56 in physical therapy, and sent one by ambulance to the hospital. We also ministered to every person and had 22 conversions to Christ!
We thank the volunteers for being in Haiti and serving the poorest of the poor.
They all did a great job!
