“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights…” James 1:17
Bobby and I are so excited about our Grand Miracle Market in Haiti. Below are some thoughts and photos from Metro Management about our “soft opening” earlier this week. Read and be amazed!
November 18th was an exciting day in Fond Parisien, as vendors and visitors entered our Gwo Maché Mirak, Grand Miracle Market, for the very first time.
We couldn’t have asked for a better day. The finishing touches were still going on as people started to find their way around the marketplace.
Robert de Vries and Philemond Jean Baptiste were right there in the middle of everything.
We anticipated that many of the vendors would arrive yesterday, but we didn’t expect that almost 80 percent of them would want to come in to setup their booths.
The people of Fond Parisien, and all of Haiti will benefit from this gift of Gwo Maché Mirak.
Instead of assigning a space to the vendors, we decided to have the booth numbers in a basket and the vendors picked a number.
That method worked really well and everyone was excited to have a space to sell goods and make a better living for themselves in the most beautiful marketplace in Haiti.
As visitors and vendors streamed into the marketplace they found not only beautiful vendor booths, but a playground where their children can have fun too.
By 3 PM there must have been nearly 1,000 people inside the Grand Miracle Market.
Many people enjoyed the amazing gospel band Echo Spiritual from Miracle Village.
At night, the lights lit up the sky as Haitians walked around, visiting with one another, everyone was so happy and the air was filled with “hope.”
Later on that evening more people arrived, it was beautiful seeing them strolling inside the marketplace under the lights.
We ended the night with a powerful prayer by the President of Miracle Village, Frank Joseph. He prayed for Love a Child, for Pastor Jentezen Franklin and his partners. He prayed for Pastor Mark Ostrander, Robert de Vries, and the construction workers as well. He also prayed for Metro Management, the marketplace and for the people of Fond Parisien. We are all praying that this project will not only be a blessing for Fond Parisien, but for the whole country.
God bless you all.
