“If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food…” — James 2:15
Many of the youngest children in Haiti never get new clothes. The poorest among the poor cannot afford to buy their children clothes. Many would have to skip days of food for their families, so most don’t even try to clothe their younger children.
For many the only clothing options are tattered tee-shirts and discarded adult clothing that can be made into something wearable for a child. But most often they have little or no clothing until they get older.
For so many families, what little money they have must go to buy food. Yet the need for clothing is not only about covering their bodies, but there is a medical need as well. These young children often sit on the bare ground and are highly susceptible to worms and parasites that occur because of the filth that is everywhere.
We are so blessed to have partners who love the poor! So many women’s groups from around the country have made clothing for these poor children, and we are so grateful for your support of our mission. Here are some of the darling dresses that they have sent us. The smiles on the children’s faces give us all joy.
We want to thank Marianela Salazar for her wonderful gift of handmade dresses for the poor! We delivered lots of them to Pastor Claude’s orphanage in La Tramble! The kids went nuts! Special thanks to Marianela and her friends for all their hard work!
We are always so grateful for the donations of new handmade dresses that we receive each year from many groups back in the States. These pillowcase dresses were donated by Tri-County Church of the Nazarene and handmade by Virginia Thomsen. Thank you for helping the poorest of the poor.
“For I was naked and ye clothed me…” — Matthew 25:36
We are so thankful for the new handmade clothing that was sent by our friend and partner Marianela Salazar. The children are so happy! Marianela, we thank you and your friends, whoever they are, for making these dresses. There were hundreds! Children all over Haiti will be happy to have something “new” and something “clean and nice” to wear. God bless you for all those hours of love you poured into the children.
These are some of the poor mothers here in the old village of Le Tant with their children, who are mostly naked. Our dear friend Marianela Salazar, and many of her friends, sent hundreds of handmade dresses, shorts, shirts, baby clothes, and so much more. I am not sure who all was involved but there were LOTS of darling clothes! Marianela, you are a blessing to these poor and naked children! Great is your reward in Heaven!
We want to thank Marianela Salazar and her friends for their wonderful gift of handmade clothing for the poor!
The girls from the University of Wyoming helped prepare all the beautiful clothes to go to a poor village. These clothes were handmade by Pastor Mary Ruth Ealy and her group at Puritan Street Church of Christ in Michigan. A special thank you to all of you who made these beautiful clothes. Everyone was so blessed!! God bless this sweet and wonderful team from Wyoming!
These young girls in the old village of Le Tant were very excited about receiving these beautiful, new pillowcase dresses and skirts.
We are so thankful for one of our special partners Phyllis Grove of The Tabernacle. She sent adorable little pillowcase dresses for the poor children in Haiti. Kaeli Fletcher (pictured on the left) is one of our youngest Love A Child missionaries and is doing a great job!
Also pictured is Denise Roberts, whose husband Pete is the “brains” behind our “Chicken Co-op,” one of our sustainability projects. We wish to thank Phyllis and her friends for all their hard work! God bless our young missionary Kaeli as well! Thank you Phyllis Grove of The Tabernacle!
We kept Kaeli, our young missionary, and Denise Roberts, one of our recent visitors very busy distributing new handmade clothing among the Haitian children in several poor villages.
These adorable dresses came from our friends at “A Labor of Love Ministries!” Thank you partners for all your labor involved in making these cute dresses!! Great is your reward in Heaven!
We will continue to “clothe the naked,” as Jesus has told us. We are so thankful for our precious partners who sit for hours making new clothes by hand for these precious, poor children of Haiti!
Thank you so much to all the women who donated their time and energy into making these wonderful clothes for these Haitian children. God bless our sweet missionaries, like Kaeli Fletcher, who have dedicated their lives to serving the poor!
Help share God’s love with the children of Haiti. If your church or group is interested in making handmade clothing, quilts, blankets or even toys for these vulnerable children, please contact us at 239-210-6107.
We have many partners who make dresses and clothes, and these are just a few of them. We will be doing another journal in the future to show you more of the cute handmade clothes that we receive.
Thank you so much.
God bless you,
Sherry
