Mobile Medical Clinic Served Many in Need!

More on the Peyi Pouri Clinic… in the “middle of no-where!”

These are a few more shots from Peyi Pouri Mobile Medical Clinic. We had six Haitian doctors and several nurses, from our Jesus Healing Center, two midwives from our Birthing Center, and some of our own Love A Child kids; also with us was Evie Ostrander from Palm Bay, Florida, and Jessica, one of our newest missionaries. Our good friend David George was in charge of distributing eyeglasses. Everyone did a great job! The church was full and people were lined up all the way down the mountain! They just kept coming, and coming, and coming!!!

Each day, our midwives taught classes on “birth control” and also, what “not to do.” Midwives from the mountains give strong hot and spicy tea drinks to pregnant moms which makes their blood pressure rise and causes their birthing muscle to “contract” when the baby comes! They have many superstitions in the mountains. Each person who needed reading glasses got them!

Note: David was fitting one elderly Haitian lady (age 80), with reading glasses. She thought he was a doctor, so she asked David through an interpreter this question: “Can you do plastic surgery on me? I have some bad wrinkles on my face? Ha!” We all laughed so hard! How in the world would she have known about doctors “making you look younger?” She has probably never even left her village to go to the city!! We all laughed with her! Haiti makes you “cry one moment” and “laugh the next.” Sherry
