Today is a holiday in Haiti, but there is still work to do, even on holidays!! There is a saying, “Idle hands are the devil’s tools.” We try to keep all of our teens and younger children busy! These are just a few that we wanted to show you because they are “teens and older.” Sometimes, teens don’t like to work!
Moses, Daniel, Christian, David, Michael, Joseph, Kenson, Jean Gardy…and they are all working “with a smile!”
During the day, when the work-crew is here working on the Jesus Healing Center, they are eager to volunteer when they are not in school. Sometimes, I have to give them a little “mom pep talk” to straighten them out and get them back on course…but that’s what parents do.
To the majority of these children, “we are their only parents.” Some have one parent (usually a father) because their mother died in childbirth and left them to us. In Haiti, children can be considered an orphan if their mother dies.
We are proud of all of our children. We teach them hard work, keep everything clean, be respectful, study hard, and serve the Lord! We wish to thank all our partners who help us in Haiti because nothing here would be possible without you!
Have a great afternoon,
Sherry
