No one works any harder in Haiti than the mothers. They not only have the job of caring for their children, but they basically have to sell items, in order to be able to afford even a little food.

Many times, a father will desert his wife and children. That causes an “even bigger, harsher load,” than before, and sometimes, a man will leave his pregnant wife. Here at our Love A Child Birthing Center, we try to take some of that stress off these sweet mothers. An organization called “Rebuild Globally,” Sandra Sandsted, has helped to make a big difference in their lives. She has founded this organization to take “things we throw away,” and make beautiful items, like sandals.

These sandals are not the ones that break easily. They are tough!!! Just look at the smiles on the faces of these mothers!! They can wear them to walk up and down a mountain and not break!! They are even “Haitian Kids Proof!” Ha! The Bible says that “A merry heart doth good like a medicine.” Proverbs 17:22
