Malnutrition is a sickness that is close to “starvation.” Children in Haiti, from age one through age five, are the ones that usually fall into this category. Often, a mother has a child, and before she can finish nursing this baby, she is pregnant with another. Now, the first one is still growing but the mother is concentrating on the new baby.
There are two types of malnutrition… Kwashiorkor and Marasmus, but Kwashiorkor is far more dangerous.
Right now, even amid the coronavirus, brand-new cases of malnutrition are increasing on our land. This Malnutrition Center was designed by Pastor Mark Ostrander, who oversees all of our construction here in Haiti. At the moment, Bryon, a new volunteer from Pastor Mark’s church, is working on the building each day with several other Haitian men. They have made a lot of progress.
When we were in the old Malnutrition Center, we began to dream a big dream… A place where we could keep mothers with their babies until they were well. We had a dream, but no money. We were already working on our new Jesus Healing Center, and we didn’t know what to do. By a miracle,
Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope told us that they wanted to sponsor this building!! It was a miracle!!
Today, we want to praise God for this miracle, and we want to thank Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope and all of their partners. They also sponsor the monthly operational cost of our Jesus Healing Center, and that is why the poor are treated “first-class!” We are “above thankful” for this miracle and for each miracle we receive! It takes everyone, large, small, and widow’s mite, and God honors and blesses each gift and each sacrifice! We don’t have the words and “thank you” is not enough!
God bless you all, everyone, who cares for the poor.
