Headed to Peyi Pouri

This morning, while you are reading this, we have a large team going to the mountains of Peyi Pouri for a Mobile Clinic. The last time we were there, we treated an average of over 1,000 men, women, and children each day. It has taken us months to prepare for this particular clinic because we will be staying in camping tents.

Since the problems in Haiti have escalated, we cannot bring “entire teams” in for a while. We do have with us: David George, who has been here many times; Evie Ostrander, my dear friend who helps me in the wound care area; Joel Trimble, who has the Haitian Television Program, “La Bon Nouvelle” (the Good News), and Oriol, who works for Love A Child. We also have Jessica Lackey, our new missionary. She has been a great help to me, her husband, Doug, will stay behind and watch everything here at Love A Child and keep all the projects going.

We have our wonderful Haitian staff… Philemond, Joker, George, Dieuferly, and Ezekiel, as well as others. In order to do this Mobile Clinic, we had to “borrow” six Haitian doctors, from our Jesus Healing Center, several Nurses, and two midwives. We will be taking care of the sick, sending medicine home, feeding them, doing wound care, giving eyeglasses, and lots of ministry.

In Matthew 25th chapter, Jesus speaks about caring for the sick, the hungry, and those in prison. Often, Jesus comes to us in the form of a hungry child, a sick mother, or a young man, just released from prison. It is our care towards them, that determines our “love for Jesus.”

We “dearly love the poor in Haiti,” and love giving them the best of care, with a hug and a smile. Bobby will be there as they leave, praying for them, and giving them Gospel tracts. The best way to win the lost is by “what we do,” and not as much as “what we say,”

We want to thank all our partners who help us with the Mobile Medical Clinics. We thank you for giving large, or small, or widows mite. We thank MAP International and International Aid for all the wonderful medicine they donated.

Pray for us because this is a very hazardous trip up the mountain. We are “so excited to have this opportunity” to care for the sick and show them how important they are to God! All our love, Sherry
