We first met “Jovanie Jean” at our old rented “orphanage building” many years ago. She had “very red hair” from malnutrition, and we did not know much about her family. We just took her in, and soon she became part of our family. We sent her to college to become a nurse. She passed her tests and went on to get a second degree to become a “saj fam,” or someone who delivers babies. She does a great job!!! She has saved the lives of several babies, and even mothers who were at “death’s door.”

Jovanie also is one of the girls in charge of Jackson, our little guy who is on dialysis. Both Jovanie and Fanise, one of our nurses, take turns each night overseeing Jackson and his dialysis. Then, they go back to work the next day. We are proud of Jovanie… she really loves what she does.
