“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek.” Today, be sure to read and study the whole scripture of Isaiah 61:1 — So powerful! This evening at 6:00 PM, Sherry and I will be ministering in a very large Haitian church in North Miami, Florida.  We would love to see you there! It is the Church of the Living God, 13700 NE 10 Avenue North, Miami, FL with Pastor Alex Lacroix.

On Monday Sherry and I, along with Jesse Ostrander and David George will fly into the Dominican Republic to look at possible future project sites to bless the poor. On Wednesday, we travel back into Haiti. Today at 1:00 PM, a big event is taking place at the Gwo Maché Mirak. (Grand Miracle Market) Have a blessed Sunday. Bobby

Update on Roberta Edwards: 10-17-2015 6:00 PM

Update on Roberta Edwards:  As most of you know, our dear friend and missionary Robert Edwards, was shot and killed last Saturday. She had been in Haiti for many years. She started and ran SonLight Children’s Home. There were three children in the car with her when a gunman blocked her car with his car, jumped out, shot her in the head and then tried to shoot two children who were running away. The gunman kidnapped little four-year-old JoJo. There has been no ransom demand and the killers have not been caught yet.

We are praying that little JoJo is still alive. The horror that this poor child must be going through, we can’t imagine. Please pray for him and all her other children who are left in her home. Love A Child, along with Feed My Starving Children, have helped Roberta for many years with her children and her feeding programs. She was 55-years-old, always very kind and soft-spoken. Her children’s home was always clean and very nice. She was a hero of the faith! She devoted her life to the children of Haiti. Roberta, we will miss talking to you this month when you would normally come and pick up your monthly food allotment. We will miss your smile and sweet spirit. We will see you again around the banquet table of heaven! Bobby and Sherry

Breaking News: 10-17-2015 12:00 PM

Breaking News:  Yesterday, one of our large trucks was sent to L’Artibonite area (Lester), where we are building a large, new Christian School in a poor, poor village.  This is located about 125 miles from where Love A Child Village is in Fond Parisian. A Haitian worker driving our box truck, which usually carries food, had delivered the building supplies and was headed back when he ran into a “political riot” of burning tires, roadblocks and an angry mob. These were people who did not know Love A Child. They blocked him in and started to burn our truck! The driver “floored it” through the angry crowd, as they threw large rocks at the windshield and broke it! The glass cut the driver and some got into his eyes. He managed to make it back alive and is under doctor’s care. We are so thankful God spared his life. Bobby and Sherry

Nelson – 10-16-15

I am sure you remember Nelson. We found him in the old village of Le Tant sitting in the dirt alongside of pigs, goats, and chickens. Nelson was neglected, naked and starving to death. We knew that if we left Nelson there, he would surely die. Now, he is happy, healthy and full of life. We thank our partners for changing Nelson’s life. May God bless you. Sherry

Word from the Mission Field – 10-16-15

“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” Psalm 19:14 – What we say and what we think are so important…and so relative to the way our day will turn out. Jesus is our strength and redeemer. Let’s stay focused on Him today and speak positive words of faith and love. Have a blessed day! Bobby

Sharing our Food with other Missionaries: 10-15-2015 12:45 PM

The best way to feed hungry children in Haiti is through orphanages and schools. We share our food with 73 other missionary organizations in Haiti each month and they do a great job of feeding a lot of hungry children. These pictures are from Greater Works Academy. We cannot do it all, but we all can do “something.” Thank you partners. Sherry

Word from the Mission Field – 10-15-15

“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favor of the Lord.” Proverbs 18:22I remember the first time I saw Sherry. It was at a big gospel tent meeting. The Spirit of the Lord spoke to me as clear as day, saying, “She has a pure heart, and you’re going to marry her.” So I walked right over and introduced myself, saying, “I’m Bobby Burnette, and the Lord told me you have a pure heart…” You won’t believe what happened next! To find out, call our office at 239-210-6107 and request a copy of our book called “Love Is Something You Do” with a gift of any amount to help feed hungry children this month. It’s full of all the amazing things that have happened in our life over the past 30 years of ministry. God bless you! Bobby
