Today, we are in the Dominican Republic. Tomorrow is a critical day because we are trying to obtain land to build a school for the poor Haitian children that live in the bateyes (sugar cane camps). We are looking at two different locations tomorrow. The sugar cane owners do not want the Haitian children to be educated because they will leave the sugar cane camps for other jobs. “Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.” Psalm 82:3 – When we do these things for the poor, the Lord will bless you and me. Let me add one more thought. We must not help the poor thinking that we will be blessed, but we must give to the poor and fatherless out of the compassion of Christ. Together we are making a difference in the lives of the poor and fatherless here in Haiti. Bobby

A Haitian Creole proverb says, “You cannot eat okra with only one finger.” What this really means is you cannot do the job alone and need help. Love A Child knows that to feed starving children across Haiti we need help and “we cannot do it alone.” We share our food with partners like “In His Ministry” who also helps feed hungry children. Abandoned baby update:  The little baby that was left at our front gate a few weeks ago is still in the hospital, but doing well. He had a blood transfusion, is gaining weight and may come home soon. We have had a lot of great names suggested for him, but I have a “special name” picked out unless there is one much better. (Smile.) Many names are already “taken” by the boys at the orphanage so “think hard!” (Smile.) Blessings, Sherry

We are so thankful to Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope for sponsoring the Jesus Healing Center each month. In just the last five days, the staff has cared for a total of 627 patients that included 441 in General Consultations, 62 in Family Planning, 45 for Vaccinations, 59 in our Malnutrition Program, and 20 in Primary Care. Each morning, they have prayer, a Bible Reading and ministry while waiting to see the medical professional. We thank all of you who support Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope. The very best way to feed hungry Haitian children is during school. Most of them do not eat anything in the morning and by 10:00 AM become lethargic or fall asleep in class. However, these little children from the Good Samaritan Foundation are happy and healthy because of a big meal each day! We share “our food” with this organization and many others each month – thanks to “you!” Sherry

“Behold, I say unto you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.” John 4:35 – This is why missionaries all over the world leave everything behind to minister to other nations.
