Word from the Mission Field – 06-09-14

Tomorrow, I especially have many praises for the Lord. Bobby’s birthday is June 10th and God has definitely “kept him alive” according to Psalm 41:1-3 –  “The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive…” In 1996, he was diagnosed with melanoma cancer and told that he had six months to one year to live, but God is a God who keeps His Word! We are all thankful that God has “kept him alive.” He’s not getting older, he’s getting better! Sherry

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” Matthew 22:37-39 – Oh God, we love you with all our soul today. Oh God, encourage us all to help and bless the poor who are our neighbors. We must love our neighbor as much as we love ourselves. Please ponder upon these words today. Bobby

A Haitian Creole Proverb – 6-7-2014 2:30 PM

A Haitian Creole Proverb says that those who share their food never eat alone. It means that when we share our food with the hungry, God will always make sure there is enough food for our family and us. These little children are under the care of Chuck Martindale at a mission in Northwest Haiti. When you share your food with us, we share our food with them. God bless you all. Sherry

Our friend Mike, the President of Hope Seeds, and his associate David are helping us to conduct an Agricultural Training Center Seminar. Together they are teaming with Rad, from our Love A Child Fort Myers office, and Wilner, our Haitian Director of Agriculture.

Many poor people were in attendance, and hung on every word about the “seeds” in their garden and the “seeds” in their life. This is a Food for Life Project. Sherry

Word for Today: 6-7-2014 6:00 AM

Never let the devil see your back. In Judges 20, we see a great battle between the children of Israel and one of their own tribe, Benjamin, who had committed evil. As the battle grew hot, the Bible says the children of Benjamin turned their backs before the children of Israel, who went on to win the battle. Ephesians 6:11 says: “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Yet, there is no covering for the back of a Christian. So never let the devil see your back. Sherry

Chikungunya fever update – 06-06-14

The Chikungunya fever is rapidly spreading all over Haiti. We have never seen anything like it. Our missionaries and Haitian staff all have it, and we hear that many people all over Haiti also have it. It comes with a severe high fever and “your bones feel like they are breaking in two.” It began in Tanzania over 50 years ago. This is very, very serious! Sherry
