Zoey – The Trial of My Faith

Zoey – The Trial of My Faith

It has been "the trial of my faith” raising little Zoey! She was abandoned, discarded by her mother (whoever she was), and left in the path of a dirt road. Kaeli (one of our missionaries who worked with us for several years) along with some of our older girls found her. We had to take...

"This One Belongs to God!" In 2 Chronicles 20:10, King Jehoshaphat faces an overwhelming evil force...three countries/provinces have joined battle against Judah...the King of Ammon, the King of Moab, and the King of Mount Seir. Judah is "way outnumbered." Have you ever felt that way? Outnumbered? We have, many times. Here, King Jehoshaphat stood in...

One More Stop Before We’re Back In Haiti

We are in the Dominican Republic with Jesse Ostrander and his wife, Kim, and Michelene, who grew up in our Children’s Home. (Tomorrow we will be in La Romana checking on some land papers and the church that David George and his partners built, in a very poor area. Then that afternoon, we will be flying back to Haiti.) Michelene was about five years old when her mother began working for us. They were having a hard time,...

“And Jesus stood still…” Mark 10:49 No one had ever paid much attention to him. He lay at the roadside at the entrance to Jericho, begging for a living. He was only known as “blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus.” He was just outside Jericho, when he heard a huge crowd of people coming his...

Sweet as a Lollipop!

Sweet as a Lollipop!

Sandraline was born in Croix-des-Bouquets about an hour from here. Her mother died soon after her birth. We are not sure how she died, but it was possibly from "childbirth fever." Her father, Fritzner, worked in Port-au-Prince repairing bicycle tires in order to pay a woman to care for his baby. But this did not...

Haiti’s Future

Haiti’s Future

These children are the future of Haiti. Love A Child has Christian schools all over Haiti, especially far in the mountains. Children in Haiti who go to school and get an education, especially a Christian education, will go so much further than children in the streets. There are many "gangs" in Haiti doing violence. But unlike in the States, the gangs in Haiti are on the streets because their parents could not afford a good education…so they turn to street violence because they have "no jobs." The poor who are fortunate enough to learn things like laying blocks etc. can sometimes find work as they now do at Love A Child, working on our road project or...
