This is Kristela. Her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother were all deeply involved in Voodoo. They all lived in the village of Savaan Pit, high in the mountains. We were there, conducting a "Mobile Clinic," when Kristela's mother, Madamn Paul, came to see us. She was expecting, and she was very sick. WE knew that she would not last long, and so we told her about Jesus, and she accepted Jesus as her Savior. Twelve days later, Madamn Paul died after giving birth to Kristela. Her poor father brought the baby to us, covered with sores and malnourished. We took her in and raised her here at Love A Child. Kristela is in her "11th" year at school. She loves to cook, dance, and sing...but, she is gifted at teaching "praise dances"...
Many people have been asking us when we will start having teams come back to Haiti. We will not be starting up teams again until “the Level 4 warning” has been lifted. A Level 4 warning is the highest, "most dangerous warning" a country can have. Haiti's Level 4 warning is due to COVID-19, an increase in gang...
THE EYE OF FAITH! “By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.” Hebrews 11:27 Moses could see beyond what he could see in the natural. We have never seen God, but yet we can look all around us and see him every day, in...
This is Daphline. She is washing her "undies" out by hand (as do all the kids here at our Love A Child Children's Home.) They say, "the washing machine does not get the underwear clean! Go figure! She was brought to us when she was just a small child, from one of the mountain areas where we work. She is 12 years old and in the 7th grade. She is a very "helpful girl," she is always helping someone, no matter if they are young or old. She is a beautiful young girl, and everyone says she's...
Update 1: We had organized our food distribution in Truttier (the garbage dump) by sending in our food cards for the 330 families who live in this garbage dump area. This also included the "surrounding area" to receive their food from us this Thursday. The people were very hungry, and the children have been crying for...
Organic gardening in America is almost a luxury or exotic. In Haiti, it is almost a necessity because there aren’t fertilizers and insecticides readily available for the average Haitian subsistence farmer. At our sustainable gardening training class in Haiti, we emphasize organic methods like making good rich compost as part of the natural, organic nutrients for the plants. Here you see the students learning to mix layers of kitchen scraps, green bio-mass, dried bio-mass, and soil into a large compost pile. In...
“This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 – This day belongs to the Lord! Wake up praising the Lord this morning, He is on our side! Run devil run! Bobby
Dieuferly... I couldn't believe this child, the first time I saw him... His mom was holding him, and his little clubfeet were all twisted. He and his family of nine brothers and sisters had been living in the mountains so far away in Covant. When I looked at him, I could see a young man aged 17 or 18 crawling on the ground with clubfeet. At that time, the U.S. military occupied Haiti. We found some military doctors who would do the surgeries, but they were not "professionals" with clubfeet. Dieuferly has...
Early this morning, our “feeding team” went out ahead of us to prepare for the feeding program. When they reached the area several miles north of St. Marc, all of a sudden, there were huge roadblocks in all four directions. It was impossible to pass or go through! They were blocking the roads with huge...
Our truck made it through on Saturday to take the Feed My Starving Children meals, which will last for more than two weeks of cooking and feeding 1,000 children per day except for Saturday. PTL! I can’t mention the name of the village because of security reasons. So far today, we have not been able to get through. Young thugs throwing rocks, plus barriers across...
