Today, we re-opened the Jesus Healing Center after being closed down due to the coronavirus. For the last two weeks, we have closed except for emergencies. Since our clinic is on the same property as our Birthing Center and other projects, and since our Love A Child Children’s Home is here also, we had to make the difficult decision to shut down for a short time, especially since we had heard that over 1,000 Haitians in the Dominican Republic were headed for Haiti.
We spent days scrubbing down and disinfecting the Jesus Healing Center and making sure all of our medical staff had the proper scrubs for this type of clinic. We could not take in the “mob” of people that we usually do. Our medical staff had to choose the “most critically ill” and space them apart on benches. Our doctors came in yesterday and even put a little blue “dot” on each bench, to show the patient where to sit. (It’s hard to keep Haitians apart!) We will continue to stay open to treat the worst cases, but the safety of our children and workers is very important to us. We are all looking forward to the day when we are all “let out of prison!” (Especially me and Bobby… Remember, we are stuck in here with 85 kids!!!!! Ha! Help us, Jesus!!!) Sherry
