Little Naika Joseph, three months old, was brought to our Jesus Healing Center by her mother, Madamn Soline. The mother, apparently living without a husband, has no job or way of making a living and the baby is suffering because of it. The baby has “Kwashiorkor Malnutrition,” is vomiting, has diarrhea, and is retaining fluids. After examination, we rushed her to the children’s hospital.

She is another reason “why” we are building the Malnutrition Center clinic. Hunger is widespread in Haiti.. the price of common foods, i.e. beans and rice, has gone higher. With many street gangs in areas, it is hard for mothers to go to “sell,” which is their main way of making a living. Now, we are seeing more and more children with malnutrition.

We are still waiting on some items to arrive via container and there is a list of medical supply items that we are trying to get, in order to open soon. We will keep you posted.
