Update on Malnutrition Center

In addition to our new Jesus Healing Center, we are also working on finishing up our new Malnutrition Center. In Haiti, malnutrition attacks mostly children age five and under. They either have Kwashiorkor or Marasmus malnutrition. Several years ago, we built an “outpatient” malnutrition clinic but found out that the children were not gaining weight. This was due to the fact that even though they were weighed and checked by our pediatrician and had plenty of food sent home, the mother was sharing all the food for the malnourished baby with all of the other children.

So, we built our new, larger Malnutrition Center to house both baby/toddler and their caregiver, who could be a mother or a relative. This child will need to stay “a long time” in order to regain health. The mother will need some type of reason for staying because she will not want to leave her family… So, we are working on a “training program” for mothers to learn a “trade” while they are here with their child, and we will also send food home to help the rest of her family. It is important that the mother stays with the child.

We didn’t have the funds for this new project and all that was needed inside, but we are so thankful that Joyce Meyer MinistriesHand of Hope has paid for the cost of the new building and all of the setup materials needed inside! This is a miracle!

Just think…now, each time we have a Mobile Medical Clinic and we find malnourished children, we will have a wonderful place to send them! May God bless Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope for building this Malnutrition Center! We are so, so thankful to the Lord! Bobby and Sherry
