“I’ll make you an offer you can’t refuse…”

One day, Jesus, the son of God, was walking by the Sea of Galilee. There, He saw some fishermen casting their nets into the sea. Two of the men were Simon and Peter, and Andrew his brother. Jesus knew the best soul winners would be fishermen, because they “knew what kind of bait it would take to catch fish.” And He knew that fishing was a tough job; it wasn’t for sissies. It would take a lot of “skill.” So, Jesus “made them an offer they couldn’t refuse.” He said, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately, they “left their nets” and followed Him. A short time later, Jesus saw James and John, also fishermen, in their boats mending their nets. He called them and they left their nets, because Jesus made them an offer they couldn’t refuse. They were about to do great miracles in the name of Jesus!!

There are less and less missionaries every day. The youth are caught up on their iPhones, the internet, and many other distractions. Years ago, when we were flat broke, the Lord called us to Haiti. He never “pushed,” but He made us an offer that we couldn’t refuse. He said, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” (Isaiah 1:19) Because we have obeyed the Lord, the Lord has blessed Love A Child with schools, churches, a Children’s Home, the Jesus Healing Center, a Birthing Center, and a college education for our orphanage children! He has healed and blessed our own two children and grandchildren. What more could we possibly want? We are so glad we “answered the call.” Today, if the Lord is laying it upon your heart to do something, no matter how big or how small it may be, or how difficult… say, “Yes!” He’ll make you an offer that “you cannot refuse!”
