“Many Little Lives in Our Hands…”

Little one-year-old Roseberline is just one of the “out-patients” here at our Malnutrition Center. She is from the mountains of Peyi Pouri (a poor village high in the mountains). Since Peyi Pouri is a village with little rainfall and poor soil, they cannot grow much of anything. Many cut down trees for charcoal. Due to having little food, Roseberline developed malnutrition.

However, when she was weighed, measured, and evaluated, she did not meet the criteria to be an in-patient. Our Pediatric Nurse decided that she could go home with special milk formula and RUSF peanut butter that our friends at MAP International donated. The babies who have to “stay” in our Malnutrition Center are critical and will die without the proper care, medicine, milk, and medications. They must stay until they reach the proper weight.

Out-patient children are also very fragile. Mothers must make sure they give the milk products and the special food formulas exactly how the Pediatric Nurse explains things. They must come back each week if they are very bad, or every two weeks, if they are “not as bad.” We feel that this Malnutrition Center is a life-saver. Many of our own children from Love A Child had severe malnutrition. With your help, we are saving the lives of infants and children. Thank you, partners, and praise the Lord!

We also wish to thank MAP International for their donations of food items and many other supplies for our clinic and Jesus Healing Center!!! Thanks to those of you who “keep this clinic going” with your monthly support!!
