Jovanie studying nursing: 11-3-2015 11:00 AM

This is Jovanie, one of our Love A Child children. When she was first brought to us at the age of five, she had been living with a poor family. Her mother had abandoned her because she could not feed her. Today, she is in her third year of nursing school at Faculté des Sciences Infirmières de l’Université Episcopale d’Haïti (Faculty of Nursing Science of the Episcopal University of Haiti) in Léogâne, Haiti. “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9 — Thank you partners! Love, Sherry

Word from the Mission Field – 11-03-15

“Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” Psalm 55:22 – There are many burdens to be had here in Haiti. The devastating situations of these poor people can be overwhelming at times. But in order for us to be effective for God, we must always be mindful to cast those burdens on the Lord, as hard as that may be, and He sustains us. So whatever burdens you may be carrying, cast them upon the Lord and He will take care of them. We love you. Bobby and Sherry

Feeding Hungry Children – 11-02-15

Love A Child is all about “feeding and caring for hungry children” here in Haiti. When we see these “empty bowls” and there has been nothing in them for a day or two, it is difficult to tell these mothers that “God loves them and He will send help.” You and I are the “help” that God sends, and these children need food “now.” Thank you partners for every hungry child you have fed! “Great is your reward in Heaven!” Sherry

Word from the Mission Field – 11-02-15

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12 (NIV) – In other words…never leave home without your “love” jacket. Because you never know when God is going to want to use you to help someone in need. Let’s be ready and “dress for success” – God’s way! Have a blessed day. Sherry

Update on Shalken: 11-1-2015 8:00 PM

Shalken update: No, this doesn’t look like the same sad little boy with the oozing, painful tumors and the hopeless face, does it? This is Shalken, just a few days after leaving Haiti (he’s the one with the big smile in the yellow hat). He is with his host family. We think he is going to get some wonderful care for those tumors. How do you feel after seeing the pictures of this little boy with those painful tumors, and now, knowing that God has given him this chance? Sherry

Update on Roberta Edwards: 11-1-2015 5:00 PM

Update on Roberta Edwards:  As most of you know, our missionary friend whom we have been sharing our food with for her feeding program at SonLight Children’s Home for many years was shot and killed here in Haiti on October 10th. Yesterday, not seeing and talking to her as we did each month when she came and picked up her food from our Food Distribution Center saddened us. She was shot six times and the little orphaned boy, 4-year-old JoJo who the killers kidnapped, has not been heard from since the attack. There has been no ransom demand. I’m afraid he has been killed or sold into slavery. We read yesterday that there are about a half million slave children in Haiti. The horror that he must have had to face! Although it doesn’t look good for JoJo, let’s continue to pray for a miracle. Roberta was a wonderful missionary and we cannot say enough good things about her. She was a hero of the faith! Bobby and Sherry

Note: Her work continues on!

Word from the Mission Field: 11-1-2015 6:00 AM

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 – Hope without faith is just an empty wish. But when you add real bible believing faith to hope…you have the evidence that it already exists. Let’s walk in FAITH today! Have a blessed Sunday. Bobby
