Dimilia Update – 06-13-14

Our little darling Dimilia will soon be going to Boston for her third surgery. She will have some additional skin graft releases done because of the horrible burns that she suffered before her father brought her here to live with us. She has already had skin graft surgeries on her neck and the inside of her underarm area, and now she needs a third surgery. It just takes one child to change a nation. Sherry

“And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity (love), it profiteth me nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:3 – Love is a great gift. Let’s show God’s love to each other and all of those around us today. Bobby

Update on abandoned baby – 06-12-14

Update on “baby-no name…” The little baby who was abandoned by his mother and left at our front gate on Sunday morning about a week ago is still at the Petit Fre ak Se Hospital in Port-au-Prince. (It is a very good hospital for children and babies.) He was “not going to make it” for a while, but he is making a slow recovery and is still hanging in there. More news should be coming in a few days. God bless you, Sherry

Word from the Mission Field – 06-12-14

Bobby and I read a very powerful scripture during our devotion this morning.
Jesus is talking about the sowers and the reapers, and he says, “…that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together…” John 4:36 – You may be sowing and we may be reaping on the mission field, but we rejoice together…there is no difference! God bless you partners. Sherry

Welcome visitors – 06-11-14

We welcome Richard Hotes and his “Dream Team” to Haiti! We are hosting the team while they are working on a wonderful project a few miles from our Love A Child Village. Carolyn, a member of the Hotes Team, recently brought a new baby to the orphanage. She put little Kevison in the hospital and was able to save his life. He is now here with us, and we will have pictures soon. Love is something you do!

We also welcome our Love A Child Board of Directors to Haiti. We will have our Love A Child board meeting at 10 tomorrow morning here in Haiti.

Girls fixing hair – 06-10-14

These children are getting ready for school the evening before. With all of these girls in our orphanage, it sure takes a lot of time to braid hair! This little one is Natalie and the older one is Ada. The little guy in the “holy shirt” is Lucson! He just loves “all the girls,” and “all the girls love Lucson!” Sherry

New furniture for the poor

We delivered furniture to thirteen more houses in Miracle Village this afternoon, and they were all so happy! Special thanks to Chris and Cassandra Baker and their volunteer team for helping put together and deliver the furniture. We also thank our missionary Robert de Vries and many others who helped deliver the new furniture. A very special thank you goes to David Hammond, his wife and family, and their friends for sponsoring this furniture for the poor. Our hearts melted with joy today! Bobby and Sherry
