George has been driving cars, trucks, front-end loaders, etc., almost anything with wheels, since he was a kid. We never knew he was learning how to drive! You could say he was good at driving us crazy. Ha! I had heard the story of George's mother and father when I used to go to Port-au-Prince to buy medicine for my Mobile Medical Clinics. A young lady in the pharmacy told me about a poor woman who had five children, was pregnant with another, and was going to "abandon the baby at the hospital" after she had given birth. She could not afford to feed another child. She was looking for an orphanage to take the baby once born, so I agreed. But, before the poor mother could make it to...
We have recently seen a lot of children and babies with severe malnutrition. Some of this is due to the fact that the crops are not good, there are no jobs, there are too many children in the family to feed, and the rising price of food. The fact is that too many children in...
This morning, as we walked around the building of the new Jesus Healing Center, two Haitians made this comment; "Look at all the people employed by Love A Child... yard workers, cleaning agents, workers in the depot, not counting all the men working on the new Jesus Healing Center, and those laying the road pavers. The men said, "If you had not given them a job, many...
For our 6:00 a.m. ministry post yesterday morning, Sherry asked, "If we are a thermostat or a thermometer" in our Christian walk? Go back and take another look. It was so good! I would like to add another scripture to her thought, which is dear to my heart… "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the...
Raphael is 12 years old and in 7th grade. He has two sisters here, Bianca and Ada. (Jessica is Ada's other name.) He also has a sister living with their aunt in Cap Haitian. They were brought to us by their aunt, who told us that their parents died on a boat leaving Haiti while trying to sail to the States and it capsized. Raphael is very sweet and quiet. He is helpful, respectful, and a good worker. He will do anything he is asked to do without saying a word, he never says "no" to anything! Although he...
These are some of the workers in our Kingdom Connection Food Distribution Center. Others work in another area of Love A Child; however, we pulled them from their jobs to help pack food. We just received two containers of the Feed My Starving Children rice mixture! Praise the Lord! The rice mixture came in large sacks, to make it easier for distribution, we had our workers re-pack them. We put five pounds of rice in each bag. Then, we will put four bags in each box. All of the Haitians love this delicious food, which is also rich in vitamins and necessary nutrients. We are also getting a large food delivery for a large feeding program we have but we cannot tell you where it will be because of the danger. There are gangs on the roads who...
The Lord will give the harvest. It all starts with the seed. I’m so proud of Wilner and all of the Agricultural Training Center workers. I remember when the land was dry and barren. There were only cacti on the land. Now, we are having a harvest two and three times a week. This week I enjoyed seeing our children eating some of the vegetables. In our ATC school, we teach many Haitians how to grow and produce better crops. It's about sustainability, helping Haitians to help themselves. Thank you, Rad Hazelip, for your vision and for putting this all together. Bobby
"A Thermostat or a Thermometer?" Years ago when I was dating Bobby, I went to church and we had a lady "evangelist." I do not remember her name, but she was really a woman of God. Even though she wore her dresses a "little long" and was a little "old fashioned," I had heard her...
About 20 minutes ago, we found out from Nixon, our administrator of the Jesus Healing Center, that Miscadin Estenio, the young man who had the horrific knife attack and survived, gave his heart to Jesus today! We have a local pastor whose passion it is to pray with the people in our clinic. Not only did...
Our Jesus Healing Center is saving lives! Listen to this story of a miracle. On August 7th, a young man named Miscadin Estenio from Miracle Village was excited to have a new motorbike! He got a call from someone saying they would pay him to take them to Old Letant, but it was a trap. When Estenio arrived in the mud hut village of Old Letant, a man started stabbing him in the neck and chest to steal his motorcycle! He fell to the ground, nearly dead. Somehow, the people of the village got him to our clinic,...
