Since we began building on our Love A Child property, we had never had plans for a Birthing Center… We had plans for a warehouse, an orphanage, housing for missionaries, a clinic, a radio station, a mechanic shop, and an elementary and high school…

We would see the ladies and families come to the Jesus Healing Center Clinic in a long line, outside our gate, because there was not enough room inside to seat everyone. However, on several occasions, when pregnant women came to see our General Doctor, they would start to have their baby outside, on the ground, while waiting to go inside to see the doctor! It happened so many times! Also, we had cases of mothers who had C-sections or who had blood pressure [issues] who would be coming from far in the mountains, and they nearly died before they got here! We said, “We have got to build a Birthing Center.”

We did it by faith and God provided! Some gave the widow’s mite and some gave more! But we used it all to build this beautiful, clean Birthing Center to take care of the poorest of the poor.

Truly, this Birthing Center is a gift from God! Outside, the “anxious fathers or relatives” can relax in our rocking chairs on the front porch! We also have some “sleeping rooms” for relatives who come from far and need to spend the night. We feed them all.

All babies are born in a clean, sanitized room! If they will need a C-section, our ambulance will take them to the hospital. While here, they are cared for by the best doctors and midwives anywhere! They also receive free sonograms. (Our Haitian daughter, Dumolia just did 44 yesterday, and before that, 77 in one day!)

The moms and their family members are served delicious food, and when they leave, our partners provide beautiful “Birthing Kits,” with diapers, clothing, baby items, etc.

These mothers come from far… they walk or take a tap-tap or motorbike; some come on donkeys from the mountains! They cannot believe they are treated so well… In fact, some poor mothers have been afraid to come inside because the place was so beautiful! Once they come in, they are treated with love and great respect!! When we take care of the poor, God takes care of us!
