Our new Malnutrition Center just opened about two weeks ago. We had four “severely malnourished babies” to begin with, but later we had eleven in our “out-patient care.” Just look at these little rascals! I cannot believe what has happened in just a few weeks! They don’t look the same at all. In fact, they are smiling!

The eleven toddlers in out-patient care have special food that goes home with them. The mothers bring them back each week for a check-up, so we can see how it’s working out. One of the mothers of these babies came yesterday and was just in shock at how her baby had improved! This is one of our greatest joys!

I want to say a special thanks to our friend, Lori, at Real Hope for Haiti. I was so nervous to start this Malnutrition Center because it is so different than a clinic or Birthing Center. There are such strict guidelines for the baby formula, and many other things according to the Government of Haiti and their Health Department. The babies have to be fed every two hours for now. They will gradually eat other foods. Lori gave me all of her information. She spent a whole day with us and even gave us information she had collected for years. She has really been such a great help, and I just want to thank her for all of her help!
