Update on Sustainability Training Classes

Love A Child is committed to helping Haitians learn more ways to help themselves through our Sustainability Training classes. We offer courses in Sustainable Agriculture at the Agricultural Training Center and raising chickens as part of the Miracle Chicken Co-op. We conduct these training sessions multiple times throughout the year.

Wilner, the Director of our Agricultural Training Center, will soon be attending a large Agriculture Conference in Haiti. He has been selected to present on the topic of making natural insecticides for use in gardening. We are so proud of Wilner and all of the hard work he is doing on sustainability in Haiti! Due to this conference, we have rescheduled our next Sustainability Training classes, which will be for Sustainable Agriculture in Haiti, to begin July 7, 2019, and end on July 27, 2019. The Sustainable Agriculture training really equips the students to return to their home village and set up reliable year-round gardens for growing nutritious food for families to eat and sell at local markets. In most cases, the returning students end up being the new trainers for their area in the sustainable gardening methods they learned while at Love A Child’s program.

These Sustainability Training programs are really valuable and are making a big difference for many hungry Haitian children and their families. Please consider helping sponsor students to attend these training sessions by donating to “ATC Scholarships.” Your important gift could change lives for generations to come.
