Your 24-Hour Security Guard…
What do you have to fear in your life?

Living in Haiti for over 30 years has taught us a lot, but we are still learning. Our property has an Orphanage, Christian School, Medical Clinic, Malnutrition Clinic, Birthing Center, Food Distribution Center, and several other buildings. We were always getting robbed and suspected it was one of our “local night-time security.” We had hired more than we needed because some just needed a job.

We decided to drive around at night and see who was doing their job… We found one “security guard” asleep in our old bus; another was asleep on the porch of the old Jesus Healing Center building… We had to let them go but thought that it would be a warning to others…

We waited a few days and drove around… some of them “flashed their lights at us,” so we knew they were watching… but when we got to the front gate, one of our guards was asleep on the pavement in front of the gate!

We shined our car lights in his face, but he did not move. We sounded our horn several times… but he was motionless. We were actually afraid he was dead, so we opened our doors and went over to him. Finally, after shaking him, “he came back to life!” It was as if he was saying, “why would you wake me up when I’m sleeping?”

David, the Psalmist, wrote about our Lord, our great Heavenly Security Guard…

“He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” Psalms 121:4

God is a great and wonderful God; He is always looking after His children, 24/7, and He never sleeps! So, have a good night and a blessed day!
