“Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth forever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.” Psalm 112: 1 & 9 – Find someone who is poor and bless him or her today. You may be the answer to someone’s prayer for help. These children are from Confidence Health Center. We give food to them each month. Have a great day! Sherry
Sharing Our Food: 11-11-2015 5:00 PM
Each month, Love A Child shares food with 73 other missionary organizations, orphanages, and children’s outreach programs here in Haiti. It takes us two “forty-foot containers” of food donated by Feed My Starving Children to do this. Each container costs $10,000 to bring from the States first by truck to Miami, then across the ocean to Haiti, and finally through all the “red tape” of getting it released from Haiti’s Customs to bring it out here to Fond Parisian. We must have a total of eight containers each month to feed all our villages, schools, our malnutrition center and our orphanage. These photos are from Hope for Life Children’s Home. This is a great cause that feeds a lot of hungry children. Go to www.loveachild.com and give whatever the Lord lays upon your heart! God bless you. Sherry
Update on Shalken: 11-11-2015 3:00 PM
Beth Nolan and her family are the host family for Shalken. He is the little boy we sent to the States for treatment of his painful tumors, which he has long suffered with here in Haiti. Shalken has only been in the States for a few weeks, but already is in full swing at a nursing home with Beth. As you can see, he has been flirting with the “elderly sweeties!” Ha! He has appointments with three doctors today. He will settle down eventually! (Smile) Love, Sherry
Update for the Jesus Healing Center: 11-11-2015 12:30 PM
We have an update for the Jesus Healing Center… prayers have been answered! We want to praise the Lord for answering the prayer for $4,000 to purchase the special WASP INVENTORY SYSTEM for the Jesus Healing Center! This is a scanner/bar code system that will allow the staff to control medicines going in and out of the clinic. Up until now, it was all being done the hard way. One of our donors responded to this need, and sent in a $4,000 gift! Our Medical Administrator Barbara, who manages our Jesus Healing Center, was ELATED! We praise the Lord!
We have another smaller, but still very important need. Our ambulance has made so many trips that our tires are “bald.” Good tires here in Haiti will cost us $712 for a full set. Maybe someone reading this will feel the need to give this amount. If this is you, please call our Florida office at 239-210-6107, and ask to speak to Rad. (We always let you know about a “good report” when it comes in!) This would make Barbara so happy! She is always afraid the ambulance will have a flat tire en route to an emergency. Thank you and God bless you. Sherry
Word from the Mission Field – 11-11-15
“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.” Psalm 118:8 and 9 – Men will let you down, but the Lord never fails! Bobby
Miracle Village House – 11-10-15
The Dream Team from The Worship Center (Pastor Sam Smucker) in Lancaster, PA came to Haiti to build a house in Miracle Village for a poor family. The family had been living in a tent since the earthquake, and this team built the house in one day… today! This has never been done before! Thank you Life Church and Pastor Randy Landis for sponsoring the cost of this house! What a great blessing! Bobby and Sherry
Update on Shalken: 11-10-2015 12:30 PM
I think Shalken has become “Americanized” in less than two weeks!! This doesn’t look like the sad little boy with no hope in his heart, battling horrible tumors. He still has the tumors, but also has the best “host family” God could give a little boy—Beth Nolan and her husband and children! Shalken still has many tests to go through and must be placed on a “treatment plan” for his tumors, but he now has “hope,” and as the Haitians say, “Hope makes us live!” Thank you to Beth and her wonderful family! Love, Bobby and Sherry
Boys get handmade shorts: 11-10-2015 12:00 PM
We had these adorable shorts made by “Dress a Girl Around the World” and Lynn Greer. However, when we arrived to distribute the shorts to the girls, the boys looked so pathetic that we decided to share some shorts with them! The boys thought they were “cool” to have these awesome, adorable handmade shorts! “Step aside, girls!” (Smile) God bless you, Bobby and Sherry
Feeding hungry children: 11-10-2015 9:00 AM
When we fail to hear the “cry of the poor,” children go hungry. Imagine being a hungry child and all you can think about is “food.” It is heartbreaking, but imagine now that a missionary comes along and places you in a “feeding program.” Amazing! We share our food with Allen Yoder of Dayspring Mission and 72 other children’s outreach programs. We don’t care who gets the credit, as long as the children are fed! God bless our friend Allen, and all our Love A Child partners! You guys are amazing! Sherry
Word from the Mission Field – 11-10-15
“One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.” Psalm 27:4-5 (NIV) – Wow, I think David knew something that we seem to forget. It’s all about being in the presence of the Lord. That’s where we will find protection and provision for our lives. “God, thank you for allowing us to dwell in your house (your presence) all the days of our lives.” God bless you today! Bobby
