Today, children all over Haiti stood in lines to get a nourishing plate of food. Then, they sat at tables, or squatted under a tree to eat a hot plate of food. We thank our Love A Child partners, and we thank our partners at Feed My Starving Children for getting this food to hungry children. The children in these pictures are from northwest Haiti…a very dry and poor area. These are just “some” of the fruit of your giving. These children are being cared for by our missionary friend Chuck Martindale. Just look at all these plates of food and these happy faces, and then, enjoy your next meal because God has blessed you for “blessing the poor!” We love you, Bobby and Sherry
Thankful for church in Old Le Tant – 08-01-15
Important: We are so thankful to David George and his partners for building the new church, which also serves as a school, in the old village of Le Tant.
We recently had the Church Dedication. The church is in the middle of “mud and stick huts.” This is a very poor village and the church is their “life.” We are in desperate need of musical instruments for the church. We will need a generator for any keyboard that is donated. The most important instrument needed is a drum set. If you are interested in helping, please call our Love A Child office on Monday at 239-210-6107. For the Haitian people, music is their life. Please help! Sherry
Word from the Mission Field – 08-01-15
“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.” Isaiah 59:1 – Call upon the Lord today, He will hear you and lift you up. Have a blessed Saturday! Bobby
Faith Church Team Update – 07-31-15
It has been a wonderful day for the missions team from Faith Church. This morning, they helped weigh and measure malnourished babies in our Malnutrition Clinic. They also helped examine those that have been in our program for a while, and saw the positive results. Much was accomplished this week! God bless Faith Church, and David and Nicole Crank, for sponsoring this team to come to Haiti. They did an “A 1” job! They will return to the States tomorrow. Blessings, Bobby and Sherry
Team Update – 07-31-15
Our mission team from Faith Church has been hard at work all week. They spent the week conducting Mobile Medical Clinics, painting school desks, distributing food, helping in our Malnutrition Clinic, and so much more. One of these photos is of Kaeli Fletcher, our newest missionary. She is with a young boy at our Malnutrition Clinic. This tiny “boy” is skin and bones. He has severe malnutrition and a problem with his blood sugar levels. He is so small, but he is sixteen years old. You can feel “every bone in his body.” His parents are very poor. There is no rain in the mountains, all of the crops are dying, and children are starving. Sherry
Fire Fighters Respond 07-31-15
A huge fire broke out near the border of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, in a place called “Malpasse.” A container of what they thought was “Clarin,” or whisky, caught fire and then another. In all, five 40-foot containers caught fire! The fire was so horrific that our firefighters had to call in the fire department from Port-au-Prince to help. It took a while to get the huge fire contained, but our guys were the “first responders” and did a great job. No one knows the exact cause of the fire. Some think it was “revenge,” but it was a huge fire, which could have done much more damage. God bless our friend, Pastor Randy, for all his help on this “Haitian Fire Fighter” project! Sherry
Word from the Mission Field – 07-31-15
“Thy righteousness also, O God, is very high, who hast done great things: O God, who is like unto thee!” Psalm 71:19 – Sometimes, we magnify our problems so big that we make God “smaller than our problems.” The God that “spoke” and created all things, He alone is God, and He is the only God. He is greater than all of our problems! Have a GREAT DAY with our GREAT GOD! Sherry
Food Distribution 07-30-15
The mission team from Faith Church, which included Katrina Shaw, Rachael Nelson, Destiny Anna, Blake Eyres, Leshea Goree, Sonia Trogler, Amanda Gaines, Tara Humphrey, Mary Dexter-Mastin, and Nicole Brewer, did a great job helping with our food distribution program in the village of Madamn Bauje. We are also so proud of our new missionary Kaeli Fletcher! Great job everyone! Bobby & Sherry
Food Distribution 07-30-15
Yesterday we had a large team of visitors from Feed My Starving Children, who came to help us with our monthly distribution of food to missionaries and 70 different organizations. It was great to have Mark Crea and many people representing three churches pack “thousands and thousands of meals” for poor children here in Haiti! The mission team from Faith Church was here too. It was “just a taste of Heaven” – people helping each other and “helping the poor.”
God bless Feed My Starving Children for all the food they donate and God bless our partners for sponsoring this food that comes to Haiti. Sherry
Child Sponsorship 07-30-15
This is Jean Wilbert, one of the many hundreds of Haitian children who work hard, but never have the opportunity of going to school. He has a “homemade” grinder, or “moulin,” that he uses to grind corn for neighbors to earn a little money for his large family, but he has never been to school. We just wanted to take a moment to thank all our “Child Sponsorship Partners” for making a Christian education, hot meals, and medical care possible for the children of the poor. God bless you, Sherry
