These people from the old Le Tant village received a “tub full of blessings” on Christmas Day!

We are thankful for the many partners that helped to make this Christmas Distribution possible.  The photo below shows a young woman with her tub of blessings heading back to her hut.  On this day there were a couple of “thugs” trying to steal these items from the village people.  She looks angry, but she isn’t, she is hurrying to get her Christmas gifts put in a safe place.

Haiti is the poorest country in the world.  Many Haitians live in mud huts, and most do not have jobs.

The Haitians want to work, but finding a job is almost impossible.  Most mothers do not have food to feed their children a hot meal each day.  There are times that children go for several days without eating.  This leads to terrible malnutrition amongst these youngsters.  Children struggle to make it to their fifth birthday.

On Christmas Day, we loaded up our big white truck and headed to the poor village of old Le Tant.  After parking in the village, Robert opened the back of the truck and got the Haitian staff organized for the distribution.

The villagers made a long line and waited patiently.

Even as they waited, we could hear praises for this special distribution.

This was a special Christmas Day Distribution and a very exciting time in this poor village.  Can you imagine what it must be like to live every day in a mud hut and sleep each night on a dirt floor?

When the mothers wake up, they must spend the day trying to find food for their children.  That is how each mother normally starts her day, but on this day, we had blessings to share with these families.

We took a variety of items to share.

We packed a sack of new clothing, shoes, toys and other useful items for each family.  Thank you, World Vision, for the blessings we shared in Le Tant.

The poor mothers and fathers were thrilled to receive Xango baby formula from AmeriCares.

This was like “gold” to these special people.  Baby formula in Haiti is very expensive and these mothers are not able to purchase it.  We brought some of our orphaned children to help the missionaries give out the gifts.  Here is Dieuferly helping to pass out the gifts.

Another special gift was baby food from International Aid.

This made the mothers so happy because they knew their little ones would be able to go to sleep with a full tummy.

We gave each family a washtub filled with food, toys and other useful items.  It was amazing watching all of these mothers, fathers, and children receive these gifts.  There were big smiles, tears and hugs during the entire distribution.

We also cooked a huge pot of chicken and rice for everyone to eat during the Christmas Celebration.

As we shared with the “least of these,” the poor village people saw the love of Christ.

These village people headed back to their huts with a little hope.
