ATC – Getting Into Chickens

We are so excited about our LAC Sustainability Agricultural Training Center (ATC) program.

Wilner (the Director) does a great job teaching Haitians how to grow better crops, help themselves, and make money to support their families. Now they are getting into chickens!

Soon this chicken program will be enlarged blessing many Haitians. One student came down the mountain to give us some tomatoes for the children. He had two more bushel baskets of tomatoes to sell! He went away happy and smiling!

Do you know what vegetables are in these pictures?

Love is something you do!

It is a small demonstration project, so that peasants looking for chickens can be more secure to get more output. How to give more care, more protection without the need for big money or hard work.

The Love A Child medical teams minister to the most desperate and despondent cases. Your heart will be moved as you see several children, whose lives have been altered by various illnesses, accidents, and conditions, be lovingly ministered to by our devoted teams. We want to invite viewers around the world to tune in on Friday to Daystar Television Network at 6:30 p.m. (ET) and then throughout the week. The Liberal Soul

Ever wonder why the blessings of God “just seem to fall on some people?” It seems that “everything they touch” is blessed. The Bible says that “There is that scattered and yet, increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than I smell, but it tendeth to poverty.” “The liberal soul shall be made fat; and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.” Prov. 11:24,25

It may be hard to believe, but there are “stingy missionaries” also. They don’t like to tip the poor, who work hard… and most times, they can’t even say “thank you.” They expect “everyone to give to them, but they give to no one.” We have met one or two who feel “the whole world revolves around them.” Not only are they cheap, but they are also condescending. You always know “cheap people” when you are around them, even after just a few minutes… The world revolves around them, and them alone.

When we learn to give, the blessings of God will “chase us down.” When Bobby and I got married, he tilted a little much on the “giving side!” We had a tiny little wooden, one-bedroom house, and as soon as we were married, he tried to “give it away!” I had to talk him out of it because we were “just married” and had no money at all. Later, one day, he tried to give away our bed… (I can’t remember but I think he did!) Someone gave us a nice car and he gave that away too… God had to teach him that there is a balance in everything.

Bobby and I love to give. If he wants to give money to someone, anyone, I don’t give it a thought… and he does that quite frequently. I never worry about it. Money has to circulate. It leaves your hands, it blesses someone, but it comes back more…

And, when you go to a restaurant, always leave 20 percent (or more). Tipping is like giving! And for goodness sakes, if your waitress or waiter has done a good job, and you “don’t want to tip a good tip,” then “DON’T LEAVE A GOSPEL TRACT!

If you leave a Gospel Tract, “leave a good tip!” I know you will! God bless you, have a great day, and “look for someone to bless today!” Sherry

“Di Di…” Ready to Go!

Our sweet little Dumolia (Dimelia) has not been able to get her Visa yet, due to the problems here in Haiti and the Embassies closing. She had wanted to go to Italy, where her “sister” Florence is, but it has been difficult to get her Visa. So, she changed courses to go to Jamaica. She really wants to go to College there because it is “International.” It is English speaking, also… but, the Embassies here have been closed. They may open a day but no one ever knows when they are open… It is all due to gang violence.

In order to go to Jamaica, she has to pass through the Dominican Republic, so she is waiting on that Visa first. But in the meantime, she volunteers at our Birthing Center, doing all the sonograms. She takes a big load off the staff and she is good at it! We have had Dumolia since about the age of three when her father brought her here. She had been badly burned, and in the hospital where she was staying, and they did not do skin graphs. She had been burned from her neck down to the bottom of her waist.

We sent her back and forth to the Shriners for years… She had “one more surgery to go,” but had to go back to Haiti due to her Visa. But, Haiti has closed doors now, for Visas… She is a strong Christian and has a lot of Faith in God. We love her!!! The kids call her “Di Di,” and Bobby calls her “baby!” (He calls most of them “baby!” HA!)  Sherry

Girls’ Clothes Needed

We have lots of girls, all sizes, at our Children’s Home. We are thankful to those who have sent in boys’ clothes, but now, the girls need clothes. They are not permitted to wear jeans or shorts, so they wear things like sundresses, or skirts and blouses. If they play soccer or basketball, they wear tights under their skirts.

They are mostly sized 5 to 9, but one or two, are heavier and shorter. They really need “daily clothes,” and especially “church clothes.” If you find any young girls’/ teen girls’/young ladies’ clothes at good prices, sales, or Amazon,  please box them up and send them to us at:

Love A Child, 12411 Commerce Lakes Dr., Ft. Myers, Fl 33913

Mark the box: Clothes: Love A Child Children’s Home

We love our girls!! Thank you so much!!

Testimony Part Two:

For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

Please go back and read my 6:00 a.m. post from yesterday morning.

Every day, while I was fasting for 21 days the Lord felt like He was a million miles away. I couldn’t understand “why?”  When my 21 days of praying and fasting were ended, Sherry picked me up and drove me home. I really felt discouraged. I thought I would live in His “glory cloud,” see visions, or hear the voice of God speak to me… nothing happened.

That evening, I told Sherry, I wanted to stay in our other small bedroom by myself. While I was sitting in my rocking chair, all of a sudden, the glory of the Lord filled my room, and His presence was there! The Lord came close and spoke to me these words… “The just shall walk by faith, and not by sight…”

The Lord prepared me that evening “not to walk by what I feel, see, or can touch.” When I fasted for 21 days I wanted to feel his presence in a supernatural way, maybe see angels, or hear his voice. Nothing happened; the Lord felt like He was a million miles away. I kept on fasting, praying, and believing.

Until this day, I do not walk by how I feel in the morning; by what I see, or how I am touched today. I really do not walk “by logic,” some days. I walk by the Spirit. I walk by faith, not by sight!

When the Lord says, “build a project here in Haiti,” no matter what the expense is, I do it by faith!! It’s not our project, but the Lord’s project to bless the poor… “It’s By Faith, Not by Sight!”

Be sure and call or write the office for my book: “Love Is Something You Do.” Read the rest of the story! It’s our gift to you, which will bless your life.

Love A Child Kids Make Love A Child What it is!

We are proud of all our Love A Child kids, but we love to see them “working and growing up” as part of our ministry. Here are two of the oldest girls… These two girls, Yolanda and Julia, are from the second set of four children that became our Orphanage. Yolanda is married and teaches “PRE-SCHOOL” at our Love A Child School. She does a great job and the children love her! Julia works in the lab at our Birthing Center. She just got married last December. We hope and pray that all of our kids here will grow up and work for us, and as the children say, “Love A Child is our responsibility. We need to live here, work here, and always take care of everything here at Love A Child, as Dad has taught us…” We believe these children will be changing lives here in Haiti! Thank you, Partners!!! Nothing happens without your help!!! Sherry

A Bird Called “Madansara”

Madamn Chrislene Derameau is a lady from a village called “Boulay.” She has a profession that the Haitians call “Madansara.” (Madansara is actually a bird in Haiti that goes all over the place, finding food where it can and sleeping where it can, and just existing where it can!)

This is a woman who gets up at 1:00 am, and gets on top of a truck, and goes far away into the province to get things to sell; she then re-sells them to people in the public market.

These are “hard-working women.” Even if you see them at 1:00 am getting ready to work, they won’t come home till about 10:00 PM!

Madamn Chrislene is one of these women. Every day, her husband goes to work in the fields, under the hot sun, and hopes for a harvest one day. But, despite all their sacrifices, they never have enough to feed everyone in the house. Madamn Chrislene says that life has been much more difficult for her since she learned that she was pregnant. She said that life got even worse, and she felt like “someone had stabbed her in the heart.” She had no money to go to the hospital during her pregnancy.

Fortunately for her, the solution was not far away. God had already provided a beautiful Birthing Center, with wonderful doctors and mid-wives and a clean, Christian environment… with hot food and a nice, clean bed!

She came to our Birthing Center and to all her appointments. The doctors and midwives took good care of her, and she got all her medicines, including prenatal vitamins, antibiotics, and much more.

She got all the care she was supposed to receive at the Birthing Center, which left her feeling better because… all the care she got didn’t cost her a penny! So today, she gave birth to a daughter at 7:00 am, who weighed 2.8 kilos (about 6.2 pounds), a healthy baby!

These miracles are possible thanks to the Lord, who puts love in the hearts of our supporters to sponsor the Birthing Center so that it can stay open 24/7. It never closes!!

Special thanks to our partners, who help sponsor the Birthing Center monthly operations, and to those who send in infant and toddler clothes, and blankets, etc. You make miracles happen for the poor!!!

God bless you,
Bobby and Sherry

Word from the Mission Field

“The just shall walk by faith.” Galatians 3:11

For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

When I first started in the ministry, the spirit of the Lord told me to separate myself from Sherry, to fast and pray for 21 days “just on water!” We had no money. I found a shack in which the windows were broken out and it was the wintertime in Florida. I hung up blankets over the windows to try to keep the shack a little warmer. The rats would crawl in bed with me at night, coming under my covers. I would jump out of bed, grab my broom handle and try to kill the rats!

For those 21 days, the Lord felt so far away, I could never feel his presence. When I prayed, it was like “praying against a block wall!” After 21 days of fasting, Sherry came and picked me up at the shack. She was late because our junk car broke down on her.

Have you ever felt like God was a million miles away from you? Wait until you hear the rest of my story tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m.!! Be sure and write in for my book: “Love Is Something You Do”. It’s our gift to you.

What Did You Say You Wanted for Christmas??

Here is little “Samuel,” when he was all dressed up for church yesterday! He looks like a little preacher!

He was less than two years old when we found this abandoned child. But Social Services asked us to take him, and we did. He was “sickly” for a long time. He was so frail and couldn’t feed himself… but after a long time, he got better. When we take in a child here in Haiti, we don’t know the health condition or any fear he might have until they have been with us for a while.

Samuel is in 2nd grade and doing well! He loves sports!! He loves to sing “off-key,” but he does his best!! And yes, he’s missing a couple of teeth!! Maybe he’ll get them for Christmas! We love little Samuel, Sherry
