The Lord laid this scripture so heavy upon my heart today. You may be near death’s door, but the Lord is not done with you yet!

I remember when I had melanoma cancer and the doctor said I had maybe around three months to live. I remember when the spirit of the Lord came into my room that evening and healed me!

The spirit of the Lord came through my room like a breeze blew through. I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord! I pray for your healing in Jesus’ name….

I mentioned yesterday that we have three sets of twins at the Love A Child Children’s Home. Yesterday, you heard about Mika and Mikalange. Today, you will see Daniel and Daniella.

This particular set of twins should have died in childbirth. They were supposed to be “triplets.” But, at the time of their birth, there were political problems in the streets. Their mother made it to the poor peoples’ hospital, and a man with a gun told her to “Leave!” She got back in her “tap tap” (method of transportation in Haiti), and she left. There was no one to deliver the babies, and she was by herself. She gave birth to two and then, the mother and the third baby died. One of her relatives brought the twins to us.

Daniella looked small but normal, but Daniel, her brother, looked like a little rat! He was so, so tiny we didn’t think he would live. But, Daniella was the “strongest” of the twins. She began to talk before Daniel; she was motivated and moving around long before he was. So, she started school two years before he did.

Daniella will be in her last year of school, Philo. Daniel will be in 10th grade, three grades behind her. Daniella helps with the girls’ “praise dances!” She also has a beautiful voice. She is “Widelene’s right hand.” Widelene is the young girl who watches over all the orphanage food and supplies that come in and writes everything down. When Widelene is not here, Daniella does it. It is quite a job. For example, if a room is out of tissue, they don’t get any unless they bring the empty roll! The same with toothpaste, etc. This keeps things from “disappearing!”

Daniel is a “goofball!” He jokes around all the time. But, he, too, is easy-going and sweet! Daniel is very “calm.” Believe it or not, he loves “cleaning his room!” He also loves working with the mechanics, and that is what he wants to be. He is sweet and respectful, and obedient.  Daniella wants to be an eye doctor. One that deals with eye diseases because this is what her brother has…an eye disease. We love these sweet twins!

Today is the funeral of President Jovenel Moïse in Cap Haitian. It is a sad day for Haiti. After he was elected President on February 7th, he came to our (Gwo Mache Mirak) on February 10th and gave his first public speech at the Marketplace.

He believed in sustainability and the creation of jobs for the Haitian people. His wife, First Lady Mdm Martine Moïse, came to the dedication of our Birthing Center and made it possible that the pregnant mothers would get a Birth Certificate for each baby born here. (It is very difficult for poor mothers to get Birth Certificates for their babies.)

It is a sad day. Our prayers are with the First Lady and her children. We pray that justice will come to those who took his life and those who paid for this to happen.

“Feeding hungry children” is what we are about. Yes, we have Christian schools, a Children’s Home, the Jesus Healing Center clinic, the Birthing Center, and much more, but the food is a crisis in Haiti, especially now.

Most of our feeding areas are in the mountains, where the poorest of the poor live, and many areas are in “hard-to-reach” places with dangerous roads and mountain “drop-offs.” Some areas have gangs, and we have to be careful where we go, and sometimes we can’t make it at all. But it is “all about feeding the children.” They are innocent victims of extreme poverty, born into the poorest of the poor. But one amazing fact about the Haitian children is that even though they are poor, they can always manage a smile.

A Haitian Creole Proverb says, “A Haitian laughs even when he should be crying.” God bless all of you who love and pray for the poor.

“And we will not forsake the house of our God.” Nehemiah 10:39

How would you feel if your church was destroyed or burned to the ground by the enemy? It is devastating. The “hope” comes in rebuilding. In Nehemiah, it is so touching to see how all the people had a mind to give and to work, while at the same time, they were always on the lookout for their enemy! Imagine having to keep a gun in one hand, while you had a hammer in the other? Yet, they did!

I have heard so many Pastors say, “It’s hard to get people to volunteer to clean the church, cut the grass, or watch the children.” What? It is an honor to “cut the grass!” It is an honor to “clean the windows!” It is an honor to “take out the garbage!” And speaking of “cleaning the toilets,” that’s how Bobby started in the “ministry.” If you cannot do something “small,” how can God bless you with something “big?”

Yesterday, we passed by one of our churches… the ladies, (very poor), were scrubbing, singing, mopping, laughing, and enjoying “working for the Lord!” They were so happy, just to have the opportunity to “clean the house of the Lord!” So, turn the music up, put your dancing shoes on and “let’s have a mind to work, to help, to give,” for, “we will not forsake the house of our God!”

You may be one of those parents who have a set of twins.  Well, we have “three sets of twins” at our Children’s Home.

As you know, twins look alike and think alike, but they are different. This is Mika and Mikalange. (In Haiti, all twins must have similar names, i.e., Mika and Mikalange. Even if you try to give them different names, the people who do the Birth Certificates will change them!)

Mika is the quiet twin. She does not do sports. She is not loud; you would never know she is here. She loves to read and loves to do homework over the weekend. She also loves to cook and is always there when you need her but not “in your face.” She is so quiet that sometimes I forget she is here.

Mikalange, on the other hand, well, you know when she is here! She always has a mischievous look on her face, as if she is getting ready to do so something or already did it! She loves sports and scares the boys when she plays.  But she is also very intelligent.

She always has the look of, “guess what I just did!” She is always laughing out loud, yes, “I always know she is here!” We love ‘em both so much!!!
